No news is... - June 1, 2007
...No news. I've ignored this part of the site for over a year since I first started it up. Sorry to be so boring, folks. It's been a very full year, in fact. I left the computer industry, took a job as a cantor, learned a lot about what that entails (as opposed to simply leading services as I have for about 18 years or so), and now I've taken a new job outside of the cantorate - back to independent contracting in the business world. Not specifically computer-related, this time, which is a nice variation on the theme. But it's a nice gig to have, and I'm very thankful to have had it drop into my lap, so to speak.
This week included three nice gigs with KlezX (www.klezx.com), formerly known as the San Francisco Klezmer Experience. Last night we played at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, and we opened the week with a phenomenal house concert in Palo Alto. For a band that has been playing together for 11 years, there was some great stuff going on. For a band that hasn't played together in about a year, it was absolutely amazing. There were things going on at both of those gigs that really kind of took our breath away. It's an honor to perform with those guys.
Clockwork has welcomed a new voice into the group. With Eric departing, we were fortunate to find Kathleen Hollingsworth to fill the huge void he left behind. She is simply knocking us out with her skills and creativity. Oh, and her hard work doesn't hurt matters, either. We sang our first concert gigs with her on May 19, and she was flawless.
Now that I've added a little of the news, I guess it's time to update the calendar.
