- This was actually taken back stage after singing a concert with Andy Williams (and a whole lot of folks from the Pacific Mozart Ensemble).

- What a gas, sitting in at Birdland "The Jazz Corner of the World"

- Showing respect for Clark Terry... the man can still play, too!

- Not a great shot, but it's about 2:15 AM and Maria Schneider had just finished a triumphant set with her big band at the IAJE 2006 conference. What wonderful music!

- With Bob Dorough. Mr. Schoolhouse Rock, but also Mr. Yardbird Suite. And a very nice guy, too.

- At a jam session (where else) with Jamie Aebersold.

- Mark Murphy let my friends and me sit in when I was in high school. A generous, generous singer. Madeline Eastman tells a similar tale of him, too.

- "Hey, man... Freddie's here. You got a camera?" A bunch of people came by to pay homage to Freddie Hubbard. He didn't cut anyone off, sticking around quite a while so people could get pictures with him. John McNeill is also an awesome trumpet player.

- I was on my way from the Lenox Lounge jam session to St. Nick's Pub for the later one. Walking cross-town on 125th, there it was...

- Went to a Sunday night jam at the Lenox, back in the zebra room. Met a Tuskeegee Airman. Sang Bennie's From Heaven. Had a wonderful time.

- An unassuming club; it was bitterly cold outside but it very warm inside. The folks there for the jam session liked House Husband's Blues, with a special verse in honor of session host, TC3.
